ABOUT THE LESSONS


I tutor and teach general Spanish courses for young adults, seniors and teenagers. Spanish courses content is based on The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages  (CEFR or MCER in Spanish) and cover A1 - A2, B1 - B2 and C1 levels. Since, in my experience, students main goal is to use Spanish language to communicate in everyday life, courses take the communicative language teaching approach. Communicative language teaching seeks to develop student’s communicative competence. General Spanish courses are design to develop the four skills, that is, reading, writing, listening and grammar as well as cultural knowledge surrounding Spanish language, in this case, culture from Mexico.
I also offer oral and conversation practice. If you are an intermediate or advance student you can join to one of my sessions to develop your languages skills and gain confidence to use the language. Oral and conversation practice follow the communicative teaching approach plus the lexical approach to help students to improve vocabulary, fluency and reading. Conversation can go on Mexican Literature or Mexican history if you are interested. I can talk about Mexican Literature since I got a B.A. in Hispanic Literature and Linguistics and I can talk about history since I’m a big fan o Mexican history.
I only offer online sessions since I work base-home from the beautiful Puebla city in Mexico. Sessions will be conducted in English. I am in the process of learning German.

EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching and tutoring online for 5 years now. I have taught people around the world, mainly university students from United States and Canada but also students from India, Russia, Turkey and Japan. I have helped teenagers to understand basic Spanish grammar differences (preterite vs imperfect, ser vs estar, simple present tense vs subjunctive mood, etc.) and I have helped adults to learn Spanish to travel and for academic purposes. I also work with expats in Mexico.

BACKGROUND
I have an Advance Diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Language Foreign (DIAPELE) at The National Autonomous University of Mexico - CEPE.
I have a Master degree in Linguistics. I love everything about languages. In the past, I used to do research on Mexican indigenous languages and I really hope I can retake Linguistics in the future.
I have a Batchelor degree in Hispanic Literature and Linguistics.


ABOUT ME
I am a native language speaker from Mexico. I live in Puebla, a beautiful colonial city in the center of my country. I love Mexican traditional cuisine. Along the weekend I walk in the company of my dog and on Sundays I take salsa lessons. As a teacher I think I am very patient and flexible but strict and encouraging.
